Punk Rock Guitar

Punk guitar is built on downstroked power chords at high speed. The technique is simpler than metal or prog, but the stamina required is real. Playing fast downstrokes for an entire set is a workout. The tone is bright, crunchy and in-your-face.

Basket Case is a perfect starting point: fast power chords with a catchy vocal melody. Punk songs are great for building right-hand speed and endurance.
