GuitarZone FAQ

Everything you usually have open in four different tabs - on one page. Here are the most common questions about GuitarZone, the song-first guitar learning platform for electric guitarists.

Getting started

What is GuitarZone?

GuitarZone is a song-first guitar learning platform for electric guitarists. The core idea: one Song Page per song, with everything you need to actually practice it - the best YouTube cover or lesson, the correct tuning, basic amp and pedal ideas, sections broken down (intro, verse, chorus, solo), tempo, key, and related picks. Everything you usually have open in four different tabs, on one page.

How is GuitarZone different from other guitar tab or lesson sites?

Most tab sites give you notation and leave you to figure out the rest. Most lesson sites are structured courses you buy in advance. GuitarZone is neither. It's organised around the song itself - the Song Page is the unit, not the tab, not the video, not the course. You come in looking for a song, you leave knowing how to practice it.

Who is behind GuitarZone?

I built GuitarZone alone - guitarist, SEO developer, and someone who got tired of the scattered state of guitar learning online. There's no team, no investors, no startup. Just a project that started as a personal tool and turned into something other players can genuinely use.

Using Song Pages

How do I use a Song Page to learn a song?

Land on the Song Page for the song you want to learn. You'll find:

  • An embedded YouTube video - hand-picked cover or lesson, full creator credit
  • The correct tuning: standard, drop D, Eb, whatever the song actually needs
  • Basic amp and pedal ideas to get close to the right tone
  • The song broken into sections - jump straight to the riff or solo you're stuck on
  • Tempo, key, album year, and other quick facts

Check the tuning before you pick up the guitar. Use the sections to isolate what you're working on. Use the tone tips if you're trying to get the sound right.

Do I need an account to use GuitarZone?

No. Every Song Page, tab, lesson, cover, and Artist Page is free to use without an account. No sign-up wall, no paywall, no gamified streaks.

Is GuitarZone good for beginners?

Yes. The best entry points are easier rock and metal songs and Learn Packs - curated collections built around themes like Easy Rock Songs or Beginner Metal Riffs. The tuning info and section breakdowns mean you always know exactly what you're supposed to be playing before you hit play.

Is GuitarZone useful if I'm already intermediate or advanced?

Absolutely. Intermediate and advanced players use GuitarZone differently - less for the basics, more for the tone and gear tips, the harder songs, and discovering creators who play at a high level. Artist Pages and Band Pages let you go deep on a specific artist's catalogue without hunting across the web.

Do you only cover rock and metal songs?

Mostly, yes, at least for now. Rock and metal songs benefit the most from having tuning, tone, and gear context in one place. The best tutorials often come from smaller creators, and GuitarZone helps surface them. Quality over coverage is the priority.

Creators & content

Where do the videos on GuitarZone come from?

Every video is a standard YouTube embed, credited to its creator. GuitarZone doesn't host video - it curates it. That means watching the videos, checking the tab accuracy, listening to the tone, and choosing the version that actually helps someone learn the song. The creator's channel gets the view; their channel is linked directly on every Song Page.

Do you copy YouTube videos or tabs?

No. Videos are standard YouTube embeds - full rights stay with the creator. GuitarZone does not copy, host, or reproduce tab notation. Song Pages include contextual information (tuning, tone, sections, quick facts) written from scratch, not scraped from tab sites.

What is a Trusted Creator?

A Trusted Creator is a YouTube guitarist whose videos have been reviewed and selected for GuitarZone. Being featured means your content appears on relevant Song Pages and Artist Pages, with a direct link to your channel. Long term, the goal is to build a model where the value creators bring to players is properly reflected back to them - it's still early, but it's central to what GuitarZone is building toward.

I'm a YouTube guitar creator - how can I get my covers on GuitarZone?

Fill out the application on the Become a Creator page. Every submission is reviewed manually - video quality, tab accuracy, teaching clarity, and whether the content fits the catalogue are all considered.

Tabs, lessons & discovery

Where can I find guitar tabs on GuitarZone?

Head to guitar tabs to browse the full tab library. Each entry links to the full Song Page for that track, so you get the video, tuning, and tone context alongside the tab - not just raw notation.

Where can I browse guitar lessons or song breakdowns?

The guitar lessons section lists all lesson-format videos on the site, organised by song. These are step-by-step breakdowns from trusted YouTube creators - useful if you want structured guidance rather than just watching a cover.

How do I discover songs by a specific artist or band?

Go to Artists to browse by artist or band. Every artist with a dedicated page shows all the songs in the GuitarZone catalogue for that artist, with links to their Song Pages. Band Pages work the same way for groups - useful when you're going deep on Metallica, Zeppelin, or Hendrix.

Is there a place to just explore guitar covers?

Yes - guitar covers is where you can browse the full cover library. Each cover links back to its Song Page, so you can go from watching a great performance to actually learning the song in one click.

Pricing & future

Is GuitarZone free?

Yes, completely. Every Song Page, tab, lesson, cover, Artist Page, and Band Page is free to access with no account required.

How does GuitarZone make money?

GuitarZone uses guitar gear affiliate links and light sidebar ads on learning pages. If you click a gear link and buy something, GuitarZone earns a small commission - at no extra cost to you. Ads are minimal and never appear on the homepage. The goal is to keep the site free for players without making it annoying.

Will there be more features in the future?

Yes. GuitarZone is still early. The roadmap includes more Song Pages, better practice tools, deeper Artist and Band Pages, Learn Packs for more styles and skill levels, and eventually a proper model for Trusted Creators. Progress is steady but unhurried - quality over speed.
